Life out here is more than good to enjoy. The oceans eternal beat and open horizon give its own calmness. After being transported by boat from Torsken to Barbogen, the hike is about 3 km each way and the trails highest point about 150 asl.
A legend says a Spanish galleon wrecked here in a storm in 1588. One man was supposed to have survived and settled here and started a family. Today you can still meet locals with darker skin and hair than the average Senjaværing, and the saying is also that our owners is descendant of this man. All up to the late 1980’s it was normal with siesta in Gryllefjord and Torsken, and this is also related to this happening.
