Join us on a 6-day guided e-bike trip around the island of Senja. We will ride in the evening under the golden rays of the Midnight Sun. During the daytime, you have the option of going on easy hikes to take in some of Senja’s best views. We guarantee spectacular experiences!

After arriving in Finnsnes, we will be transported to Torsken on the outerskirts of Senja, where we start with a three-course dinner and get to know each other. After the meal and presentations, our knowledgeable guide will go through the programme for the whole trip.
The focus of this trip is on e-biking, but we will arrange optional hikes during the daytime in easy yet incredible terrain.
All the cycling take places in the evening so we can experience the magical light and see the Midnight Sun while we are riding. As we need to cross two fjords to get all the way around the island, two boat trips are included. We will make stops during each cycling stage to visit famous sights and hidden gems.
All accommodation is of a high standard and all meals are included. We will serve good food between activities, as well as a delicious three-course dinner each evening based on wonderful, local ingredients.
Luggage transport is offered on the whole trip.

Day 1 – Meeting at Finnsnes and transport to Senja by Heart in Torsken
We meet up in Finnsnes by 17:45 and then set off on a scenic drive to Torsken and Senja by Heart. After checking in, dinner will be served before everyone presents themselves and the guide goes through the programme for the whole trip. There will be a small evening ride so that we can adjust the bikes and get to know the conditions a bit. The trip goes along the old road into Gryllefjordbotn and up to Ballesvikskardet, where we enjoy the view and the midnight sun.
Day 2 – Torsken – Mefjordvær (59 km, tunnels)
After breakfast we set off on a tour of the Wilsgård Salmon processing plant. There will also be an opportunity for a short hike up to Ramnfløy, with a view of the village. This evening’s cycling stage will take us through some of the rawest and wildest nature the outer coast of Senja has to offer. We will ride along the National Scenic Route, which coincide with National Cycle Route 1, and pass several iconic viewpoints. This is a relatively hilly stage, but completely manageable with the help of e-bikes. Make sure your camera batteries are fully charged!
Day 3 – Mefjordvær – Finnsnes (71.6 km, tunnels)
We start the day with a hike to Knuten at the outermost point of Mefjordvær. You will be rewarded with great views of the Medfjord and the impressive mountain range on the northern side of the fjord. Today’s stage starts earlier in the day, so we won’t have to cycle with the sun at our backs all the way. We leave behind the wild, rugged mountains on the outer coast and get to experience the milder inner coast. Apart from the climb up from the Medfjord, this stage is relatively flat. Today’s cycling stage is the longest of the trip.
Day 4 – Finnsnes – Frovåg (56.7 km)
After breakfast, we cycle back over the bridge to Senja, and stop at Hyttekroa for lunch before we take a hike in Ånderdalen National Park. The next stage goes back to Frovåg, and we really get to see Senja’s great natural diversity. After dinner, there will be opportunities for a Jacuzzi and hygge after dinner.
Day 5 – Frovåg– Torsken (42 km and 2 boat crossings)
After breakfast, there is the option of going on an easy hike to up the mountain Leirpollfjellet to enjoy wonderful views of much of the southern part of Senja. After a sumptuous dinner based on local ingredients, we prepare for today’s cycling stage. We ride from Frovåg to Rødsand (10 km) where a boat will be waiting to take us across the Selfjord. After reaching Flakstadvåg on the other side, we ride to Grunnfarnes through some of the most wonderful nature the outer coast has to offer. Another boat will be waiting to take us along the outer coast of Senja and into the fjord to Torsken and Torsken Brygge for a midnight snack and overnight accommodation. If the weather conditions are right, it will be a little surprise under the midnight sun.
Day 6 – Time to say goodbye and head home
After enjoying breakfast together and summing up the trip, you will be driven back to Finnsnes. It’s then time to say goodbye and travel home or to your next destination! Thank you for joining us!

Level
Although we will ride e-bikes, participants should be relatively fit and used to physical exercise. The hikes are optional so, if you feel a hike and bike ride on the same day will be too much, you have the option of enjoying a restful day in the village before the evening’s cycling stage. Please note that we will spend several hours biking each day. This trip is moderately demanding.
Bicycle & equipment
We provide Fokus Aventura e-bikes, which are versatile and powerful. They offer good comfort and are well suited for the terrain we will ride in. If you wish to use your own e-bike, you must be sure the battery capacity will last on the longest stages or bring an extra battery. Unfortunately, we don’t offer a discount if you choose to use your own bike. A bike bag is also included for those who want one. You can either bring your own helmet or use one of ours. Everyone must bring their own clothes and other gear. For those who take extra care of their behinds, we recommend bringing a gel cover for the seat. We also have for sale if needed.
Accommodation and food
All accommodation and meals are included in the tour price. A three-course dinner is served in the late afternoon each day and a midnight snack will be available on arrival each night. Any drinks in addition to those served during the meals will be at your own expense.
Getting here
If you are travelling from Oslo or overseas, you can fly to either Bardufoss or Tromsø. If you fly to Bardufoss, you can catch the airport express bus to Finnsnes. If you fly to Tromsø, you can travel to Finnsnes by bus or express boat. Transport from Finnsnes to Torsken and back is included in the tour price. If you are driving by car, we recommend parking at Senja Fjordcamp in Torsken. If you choose the latter, remember to let us know where you will meet us.
Safety
The guide is responsible for safety, but everyone has an individual responsibility to behave in a considerate and safe manner. The guide has performed a risk analysis for each cycling stage and for the trip in general, so we have routines in place in the unlikely event that something unforeseen occurs.
Insurance
We strongly recommend arranging travel insurance, so you will be covered if something unforeseen occurs.

Equipment
Torsken: Torsken Brygge, Senja by Heart’s own facility. Old wharf from the 1930s, was completely renovated in 2021 and was ready for use around the turn of the year. It is a short 5 minute walk to our popular restaurant. Since its inception, it has gained a good reputation with exciting dishes made from local ingredients.
Mefjord: Mefjord Brygge is a well-established facility with a varied offer. Here we stay in a hotel room, dinner is served in the Salteriet on the 1st floor.
Finnsnes: Here we stay at Finnsnes Hotel, nice area for hygge and the bar is open.
Frovåg: In idyllic Frovåghamn in the very south of Senja, in peaceful surroundings, we find Senja Fjordhotell. Breakfast and dinner in bright, pleasant premises on the first floor.
